🚲 A Journey Through Time: Reflecting on St. Petersburg's Black History Bike Tour!🚲

Recently, I had the privilege of joining the Black History Bike Tour, an enlightening exploration of St. Petersburg's African American history. Led by the insightful Josette Green, the tour unfolded the stories of our community, taking us to the very locations where history was shaped.

Pedaling through places like the Historic Gas Plant District, Pepper Town, Methodist Town and Mercy Hospital, each stop resonated with profound historical significance. It was a powerful reminder of the resilient spirit of the African American community in the face of challenges.

As someone deeply connected to this city, I was blown away by the fact that most of the decisions that negatively impacted African American's were made by the St. Petersburg City Council. The tour served as a stark reminder that challenges were not limited to individual racists but were systemic issues and they still persist today.

From eye-opening revelations to life-changing perspectives, the tour offered an invaluable understanding of our shared past. The 5-mile loop, started at 9:00 a.m. at the Wellness Center, 2198 15th Ave. S. in St. Petersburg, FL, and became a powerful journey through time.

My Wife took the ride with me and others, I would like to encourage everyone to make time to experience the tour's transformative power. Visit www.BlackHistoryBikeTour.com to plan your ride and be part of this essential exploration.
